In late 2005, 27 organizers, primarily from the local community, came together with a desire to establish a new community bank which would focus on local business in Vineland and the surrounding South Jersey area. After a record setting $20M initial public offering, by early 2006 the bank was ready to begin design of a facility to serve as both head-quarters and their first customer branch. The bank commenced operations in a temporary trailer in April of 2007 and by February 2008 moved into its new headquarters at 175 S. Main Road.
Manders Merighi Portadin Farrell Architects, LLC was instrumental in the launch of this rapidly growing bank, now known regionally for its success, offering expertise on decisions large and small; from letterhead and logo colors, to creating a brand look and feel with the selection of natural materials. Unique to this project: The headquarters building shares a literal and figurative relationship with a 250 year old tree that was discovered in the middle of the small site. In response to the tree, the functional program was arranged into an “L” shaped floor plan and structural measures were taken in constructing nearby basement footings, to minimize the impact of the construction operation on the tree and its root system. The projects’ wood beams, structural wood plank roof, tall windows, ornamental pendant light fixtures, wood paneled walls and muted earth tones create a space that is both sophisticated and warm.
